Alice in Wonderland

What will you create in Wonderland?
What beauty or horrors await Alice in her adventures? This is the question you must answer as you create a game-ready environment to fit this theme. We have gathered concept art from Alice Asylum to inspire your work.
All entries must be created in Core, our new, free to use game and world creation platform, powered by Unreal, that gives you all the tools you need to turn your vision into reality. To learn more about Core, visit coregames.com or read “Art Directing the Multiverse” by Dan Fessler, Core’s art director.

FAQ / Details
Are there any submission specifications?
Create a scene inspired by the theme "Alice in Wonderland." To enter, 3-5 images of your scene must be posted in #🌟-submissions on Core's Discord, along with a link to your published piece.
Images should be 16:9 ratio and at least 1080p resolution. Only minor retouching allowed via image editing software.
Does it have to be a playable game?
No, the environment is all that matters. Bonus points if you add a way to explore the scene by walking/flying around in it, but you will ultimately only be judged by the aesthetic/creative merit of your scene and not by functionality.
Can I submit multiple entries?
Sure! You can only win one prize, but every entry you provide increases your chances of doing so.
Can I use photoshop for my finished image?
You can, but only for touch-ups, and slight effects enhancements (glows / depth of field / motion blur, etc.), levels adjustments, and simple color grading/ hue/ saturation tweaks. No extensive paintovers, 2D backplates, or effects (like bubbles or dust) should be created in Photoshop— these kinds of elements should be generated in 3D. Aside from the aforementioned tweaks, the scene must view as submitted.
Is Core kitbashing or making new assets?
Both! New assets are created within Core by combining a wide selection of complex and simple shapes, hindered only by your own imagination. Our art director's blog post describes the ideology behind it all, for those who are curious.
What are the details on the portfolio review?
One of the leading artists at Manticore will review your portfolio. Potential reviewers include the art director, our lead character artist, and our lead environment artist.
What is the "People's Choice" Award?
These prizes will be given to the participants who post a photo of their creation, who tag Core and include the hashtag #CreatedWithCore, on social media and generate the most likes. There will be two winners for this 'category', on the platforms Instagram (@CoreMultiverse) and Twitter (@CoreGames) respectively.
